This 75mm knight from Romeo Models is one of the figures I have worked on lately. It was a really challenge for me to try my hands at painting a worn out red color on his tunic. Red is a very dramatic color for any figure but I felt that it was very difficult to get the result I wanted. It is nearly finished by now but the shield and some touchup´s are still required.
Finally I finished this 90 mm mounted knight from Romeo models. It has taken me almost two and a half year to complete this complicated kit. A big piece like this must in my opinion be one of the trickiest builds to complete you have to think twice and planning the work very thoughly to achive a good end result. I must confess that I am really satisfied with the finished figure. I hope that you like it as well.
Finally this little bust is almost finished and as always there are some details that could be improved but I will wait a couple of weeks and take a closer look at it then. I´ve decided to go with the undertaker theme on this kit as I found it to be the most suitable for this model. This must definitly be my fastest painted figure ever I. It was finished in a week wich is very fast by my ordinary standard. I hope that you appriciate the finished figure.
Last weekend I was attending the great modelling show Euromilitaire and it was a great experience as always meeting new and old friends. I recived a higly commended in the bust class and a comended in the class for comercial figures over 65mm. I also bought alot of new figures and this figure was one of them. It is from the producer Robert Chaudon and the scale is 1/8. I really like the characther in his face so I just had to start this wonderful figure. There are no explanation to what characther the figure portrays. But I consider to paint him as a undertaker during the western era or maybe a freaky circus manager of some kind. I started painting this figure today (Sunday) and this is how far I have reached by now.
I thought it was time for an update on this blog because a lot of time has gone since I presented something new here.

I´ve got this figure at the last World expo in Montreux last year. It is a limited edition from Pegaso sculpted by the talented Andrea Jula. The orginal figure portrays the famous story of Wilhelm Tell and his son after he has shoot an apple on his son´s head. I decided to convert the kit to represent a rebellian peasant soldier wich is welcomned by his son while he is coming home. The scene takes place in the southern part of Sweden during the uprisal against the king Gustav Wasa in the 16th-century when a peasant army fought against german Lanskecht´s wich had been hired by the swedish king. Those mercinaries suffered big losses because they were illsuited for this kind of warfare.
So here are the last update on this blog for the year of 2011.

The figure are produced by Romeo models and was sculpted by Victor Konnov. This model was very complicated, both the assembly as well as the painting process. I have worked on this project on and of for merely two years and finally I begin to see the end of the painting of the horse. The model are painted using both oil colors and acrylics. The skull on the base comes from Andrea miniatures and his helmet are a sparepart from a Pegaso kit, I thought that the atmosphere would be more dramatic with this addition to the base. There will be more updates on this when I have come even further with the building and painting of the figure wich will sit on top of the horse. I hope that you like it!

I wish you all a happy new year!
The final parts that I painted and glued to him was the feathers wich gave him more of tha native american look. This bust was a real pleasure to paint and finish because he has so much charachter in his face. The whole figure is painted in Vallejo and lifecolor acrylics solely. I hope that you like the final result on him.
The figure is from the producer Maurice Correy miniatures and the scale is 1/9 or more likely 1/10 in my opinion. I've decided to convert some small things on this figure because I didn´t like some minor details. I had an older bust from Young miniatures laying in my stash with the rest of my grey army just waiting to be slaughtered by my scalpel for the need of useful parts. First I must mention that both the sculpting and casting was really excellent on the original MCM-figure. The first Thing I converted was his shoulder patch wich orginally was from th 82nd airborne division to the one from the Young bust. The other detail I switched was the small "cricket" hanging around his neck. The original figure didn´t have any net on his helmet so I made a new on with some twined brassnet I come across a long time ago.
I have started the painting process on the head so far and it feels like it's are nearly finished by now. I tried to paint some black camoflagepaint on his face this was a really scary process cause it feels like it could make or brake the whole figure if it didn't turn out good. Here are some pictures of the result.

After I came home from World expo I was really inspired to start a new figure. I saw an demonstration painting figures by the famous painter Diego Ruina wich got me really inspired to start painting a bust in a fast manner and still try to get a resonably great result. So I choosed this bust of an american native Apache indian that I bought at the World expo show as the subject for this experiment. I am quite satisfied with the result so far. This figure was started last tuesday and this is the result on Sunday evening. Normally I work on a project for like this for three month´s or more so this is something of a record for me. I hope that you like the result of the figure so far because it was an really exiciting experiment for me to try to paint a figure with good results in a more resonable time.

I have just came home from Switzerland from the World expo figure show. This was the second time that I competed with my figures at such a large international show. I recived a Pewter medal, wich is the highest valour you could take in the General class. I also competed in the Master class for painted figures and recived an highly commended wich feels really great. I took some pictures from the show of some of the great displays that were at display there. The World expo must be the world championship for figure modeller in my opinon. It was a great weekend the only bad thing was that it was so expensive to be there for an example an ordinary pizza costed 20 euros. Enjoy the pictures and I am really sorry that the quality of the pictures aren´t the best.
Since the last update I decided to paint some lighter highlights to make the wrinkles stand out even more. I had a thought that a jungle scene would make this outstanding figure stand out better. The leaves and fernes are photoetched and comes from the producer Eduard and I think those leaves are one of the best on the market. I hope that you like the finished result, thanks for watching.
It's been some time since my last update regarding this american soldier from the Vietnamwar. I have made some progress with the figure but it feels like I am painting it over and over all again in som strange sense. Well at least I have decided to put him in a jungle setting instead of the firebase wich was the case on the boxart for the figure. I think some jungle vegetation will make this figure come to live even further. Since the last update I have painted the gear and rifle and even further work has been put into the green thones on his trousers and flakjacket. I can see the light on the end of the tunnel regarding this figure and begins to see the last touchup before i can consider him finished. I hope you all like the progress soo far.
This time I have made some progress on the helmet and the guys trousers. I have tried to touch up the skintones but I am not quite pleased with result so far, so I guess I have to paint som more layer´s with the oils before I am satisfied. There are alot of work left before the trousers detail will be finished but I think that the colortone on them looks the part at this stage of the paintingprocess. The trousers are going to be more dirty in the end I think. Regarding the helmet maybe it is too dirty so you miss some of the details on the cammoflagepattern. But when looking at pictures from that conflict you tend to see no cammoflagepattern at all due to the dirty enviroment they were used in.

I haven´t presented any of my work I am currently working so I thought it would be fun to show one of the figures I have at my workdesk at the moment. This is a 90mm U.S Marine from the vietnam war produced by Pegaso. It is sculpted by one of Pegaso´s best sculptors in my opinion Andrea Jula. I have been facinated by this war since I was a kid back in the eighties and looked at all those films that was produced during that era. I sculpted a new T-shirt on him cause looking at pictures from that time the soldiers often had those under their flakjackets. The figure is far from finished but the face and the skintones are nearly finished by now. There will be more touchup on the skintones ofcourse. The skintones are painted with a base of Vallejo acrylic paints with lights and shadows created with diferent blends of oilcolors. I hope you like the progress so far.
The first one is a Landsknecht sculpted by Yury Serbakov and the scale is 1/9. This sculpture is a magnicifent piece of art and was a real joy too paint.
